Fulham picked up a first point of the season at the fifth time of asking after a 1-1 draw at home to Cardiff.

In a first half which saw Fulham produce their best football of the campaign to date, Tim Hoogland nodded the Whites in front in the 22nd minute.

Ross McCormack then hit the post direct from a corner as Fulham looked for a second goal which their dominant play deserved.

But Cardiff were much better after the restart and Kenwyne Jones fired them level in the 55th minute.

Both sides smelt victory thereafter but both defences held firm as Fulham moved off the foot of the table.
